TPS62140RGTR | 3-V to 17-V 2-A Step-Down Converter

The TPS62140RGTR is a high-efficiency synchronous buck DC-DC converter designed for compact, low-power applications. Using TI’s advanced DCS-Control topology, it provides fast transient response, excellent line/load regulation, and seamless transition into power-save mode. With an input range of 3 V to 17 V and up to 2 A output current, it’s ideal for Li-ion battery systems and 12-V power rails in embedded or portable electronics.

Its 2.5 MHz typical switching frequency allows for small inductors and compact PCB design, while integrated MOSFETs and soft-start control simplify power sequencing. The device includes power-good indication, thermal protection, and 100% duty-cycle operation for maximum efficiency during low dropout conditions.

Applications

  • 12-V rail or Li-ion battery step-down supplies
  • Point-of-load regulators for microcontrollers or FPGAs
  • Solid-state drives, embedded systems, and cameras
  • Tablets, modems, data terminals, and portable instruments
  • Replacement for LDOs in efficiency-critical designs
