TPS62130RGTR – Buck Switching Regulator IC 3A VFQFN-16
The TPS62130RGTR from Texas Instruments is a high-efficiency, easy-to-use 3A synchronous step-down (buck) DC-DC converter, designed for compact, high-performance power management in industrial, communication, and embedded systems. Operating from a wide input voltage range of 3V to 17V, it efficiently converts common power rails such as single-cell Li-Ion batteries or 12V intermediate supplies into stable low-voltage outputs. Utilizing DCS-Control topology, the TPS62130 provides fast transient response, high output voltage accuracy, and outstanding stability over all operating conditions. Its high 2.5MHz switching frequency enables the use of smaller inductors and capacitors, resulting in a compact, low-noise power supply design.
The converter delivers up to 3A continuous output current and supports output voltages from 0.9V to 6V. The integrated soft-start pin allows for controlled voltage ramp-up, ideal for sequencing multiple power rails or tracking applications. Additionally, the device includes Enable and Power Good pins for flexible system control and monitoring. At light loads, the TPS62130 automatically enters Power Save Mode (PSM), reducing quiescent current to 17uA for exceptional efficiency across the entire load range. When disabled, the device consumes less than 2uA in shutdown mode, maximizing battery life in portable applications.
