TPS562209DDCR – Buck Switching Regulator IC 2A SOT-23-6

The TPS562209DDCR from Texas Instruments is a highly efficient, compact 2A synchronous step-down (buck) converter designed for cost-effective and space-constrained power management applications. Featuring an integrated 122mΩ (high-side) and 72mΩ (low-side) MOSFET, this device delivers up to 2A continuous output current with excellent efficiency and minimal external components. Operating over a wide input voltage range of 4.5V to 17V, and capable of generating output voltages between 0.76V and 7V, the TPS562209 is ideal for powering digital electronics and embedded systems. Using D-CAP2 mode control, it offers fast transient response, stable operation with low ESR ceramic or polymer capacitors, and no need for external compensation, simplifying circuit design and reducing overall cost.

The device operates in continuous conduction mode (CCM), which minimizes output ripple at light loads, ensuring smooth and stable performance. With a 650 kHz fixed switching frequency, it achieves compact power solutions suitable for consumer, networking, and industrial applications. Built-in protection features such as cycle-by-cycle overcurrent limit, hiccup-mode undervoltage protection, overvoltage protection, UVLO, and thermal shutdown enhance system safety and reliability.

Key Features:

  • 2A Continuous Output Current: Integrated 122mohm/72mohm FETs ensure high efficiency and thermal performance.
  • Wide Input Voltage Range: 4.5V to 17V operation supports 5V, 12V, and intermediate power rails.
  • Adjustable Output Voltage: 0.76V to 7V range for versatile system requirements.
  • High Efficiency: Optimized design for low power loss and reduced standby current.
  • Fast Transient Response: D-CAP2 control ensures quick response to load changes.
  • Fixed Switching Frequency: 650 kHz operation enables small inductor and capacitor selection.
  • Continuous Conduction Mode: Reduced output ripple and better light-load performance.
  • Protection Features: Cycle-by-cycle OCP, UVLO, OVP, TSD, and hiccup-mode undervoltage protection.
  • Low Shutdown Current: Less than 10 µA for energy-saving standby.
  • Compact Package: 6-pin SOT-23-6 for minimal PCB footprint.
