TPS55340RTER – Boost Switching Regulator IC Positive 25A WFQFN-16
The TPS55340RTER from Texas Instruments is a high-performance non-synchronous boost switching regulator IC featuring an integrated 5A, 40V low-side MOSFET. Designed for superior flexibility, it can be configured in multiple topologies, including boost, SEPIC, and isolated flyback, making it ideal for a wide range of industrial, automotive, and communication power applications. The device operates efficiently across an input voltage range of 2.9V to 32V, supporting multicell batteries or regulated power rails such as 3.3V, 5V, 12V, and 24V.
The TPS55340 uses a current-mode PWM control architecture for fast transient response and precise voltage regulation. Its switching frequency is adjustable from 100 kHz to 1.2 MHz using an external resistor, or it can be synchronized to an external clock for improved EMI performance. With a low quiescent current of 0.5 mA and shutdown current of only 2.7 µA, it ensures high efficiency even during light load or standby operation. Integrated protection features include cycle-by-cycle current limit, thermal shutdown, undervoltage lockout (UVLO), and programmable soft-start for controlled power-up sequences.
