TPS54531DDAR – 28V, 5A Step-Down Converter with Integrated MOSFETs | Texas Instruments

The TPS54531DDAR from Texas Instruments is a 5A, 28V step-down (buck) DC-DC converter designed for compact, efficient power management in industrial, consumer, and embedded applications. It integrates high- and low-side MOSFETs and operates over a wide input voltage range of 8V to 28V, providing adjustable output voltages from 0.8V to 26V.

With current-mode control, a fixed 570kHz switching frequency, and Eco-mode light-load operation, the TPS54531 achieves up to 95% efficiency. The device features low shutdown current, internal soft-start, and full protection functions, including cycle-by-cycle current limiting, hiccup short-circuit protection, and thermal shutdown.

Applications

  • Industrial control and factory automation
  • Automotive auxiliary power systems
  • Consumer electronics and set-top boxes
  • Networking equipment and routers
  • Distributed DC-DC conversion
