TPS5430DDAR – 3A, 23V High-Efficiency Buck Switching Regulator IC

The TPS5430DDAR is a high-performance 3A PWM buck converter designed for superior efficiency, stability, and compactness in industrial and embedded power systems. It integrates a low-resistance N-channel MOSFET, ensuring high efficiency and reduced power loss. Operating from input voltages up to 23V, this device efficiently steps down higher voltages—such as a 24V bus—to lower regulated outputs for a wide range of applications. Featuring a high-performance voltage error amplifier, the TPS5430 delivers tight voltage regulation and outstanding transient response. Its built-in undervoltage lockout (UVLO) prevents startup until the input voltage reaches 5.5V, while the internally set slow-start circuit limits inrush currents to ensure reliable startup behavior. With internal frequency compensation, design complexity and external component requirements are minimized, enabling faster development and a cleaner PCB layout.

The device also includes multiple protection features—overcurrent limiting, overvoltage protection, and thermal shutdown—to safeguard both the regulator and the load. Using the ENA pin, the device’s shutdown supply current can be reduced to as low as 15uA, supporting low-power standby modes. Packaged in a thermally enhanced SOIC-8 PowerPAD, the TPS5430DDAR ensures excellent thermal performance and reliability, ideal for high-current, high-efficiency DC-DC conversion systems.
