TP4066-4.2V DFN2x2 Linear Li-Ion Battery Charger IC for Single-Cell Applications
The TP4066-4.2V is a complete linear lithium-ion / lithium-polymer battery charger IC designed for safe and efficient charging of a single cell from USB or adaptor power sources. Housed in a compact DFN2x2-8 package with an exposed thermal pad, it supports high charge currents up to 1A while maintaining excellent thermal performance, making it suitable for space-constrained portable electronics.
This device operates using a constant-current / constant-voltage (CC/CV) charging profile with a highly accurate 4.2V preset float voltage (+-1%). An internal PMOS architecture eliminates the need for an external blocking diode, while built-in thermal regulation automatically reduces charging current under high temperature conditions. Integrated battery reverse-connection protection, automatic recharge, and dual LED status outputs make the TP4066 a reliable choice for consumer, industrial, and wearable charging designs.
