The TL431CDBVR is a three-terminal adjustable shunt voltage reference IC designed for general-purpose voltage regulation where cost efficiency and reliability are essential. The output voltage can be programmed from approximately 2.5V up to 36V using two external resistors, making it a flexible replacement for conventional Zener diodes in a wide range of analogue and power management circuits.

With a typical output impedance of 0.2ohm and a sharp turn-on characteristic, the TL431CDBVR delivers stable and predictable regulation behaviour, especially in switch-mode power supply (SMPS) feedback loops, on-board regulation, and adjustable power supplies. The C-grade accuracy makes it suitable for commercial applications where ultra-tight tolerance is not mandatory. Supplied in a compact SOT-23-5 (DBV) package, it integrates easily into space-constrained PCB designs.
