The STM8L151x4/6 and STM8L152x4/6 devices belong to the STM8L ultra-low-power 8-bit family and have medium density. The medium-density STM8L15x series works from 1.8 V to 3.6 V (down to 1.65 V at power down) and is offered in two temperature ranges: -40 to +85 °C and -40 to +125 °C.
The medium-density STM8L15x ultra-low-power family includes an enhanced STM8 CPU core that increases processing power (up to 16 MIPS at 16 MHz) while retaining the benefits of a CISC architecture such as improved code density, a 24-bit linear addressing space, and an optimized architecture for low power operations.
The family contains an integrated debug module with a hardware interface (SWIM), which enables non-intrusive In-Application debugging and quick Flash programming. All medium-density STM8L15x microcontrollers include embedded data EEPROM and low-power, low-voltage, single-supply program Flash memory.
They include a wide variety of improved I/Os and peripherals.
The modular nature of the peripheral set enables the same peripherals to be found in many ST microcontroller families, including 32-bit families. This makes any transfer to a different family much easier, and it is further simplified by the usage of a similar set of development tools. Six distinct packages are proposed, ranging from 28 to 48 pins. Depending on the device selected, different peripherals are included. All STM8L ultra-low-power products share the same architecture, including memory mapping and connector.
