Description

The STM8L extremely low power 8-bit series includes the high density value line STM8L05xxx integrated circuits.

The value line STM8L05xxx ultra low power family has an improved STM8 CPU core that can process more data (up to 16 MIPS at 16 MHz) while still offering the benefits of a CISC architecture, which includes a 24-bit linear addressing space, better code density, and an architecture optimized for low power operations.

Ultra-fast Flash programming and non-intrusive in-application debugging are made possible by the family's integrated debug module with a hardware interface (SWIM).

The STM8L05xxx microcontrollers of the high density value series include embedded data EEPROM as well as low-power, low-voltage program Flash memory with a single supply.

All devices include a 12-bit ADC, a real-time clock, four 16-bit timers, one 8-bit timer, and conventional communication interfaces such as two SPIs, I2C, three USARTs, and an 8x24 or 4x28-segment display. The high density value line STM8L05xxx includes 8x24 or 4x 28-segment LCDs.

The STM8L05xxx family runs between 1.8 V and 3.6 V and is available at temperatures ranging from -40 to +85 °C.

The modular nature of the peripheral set enables the same peripherals to be found in many ST microcontroller families, including 32-bit families. This makes any transfer to a different family much easier, and it is further simplified by the usage of a similar set of development tools.

All value line STM8L ultra low power products are built on the same architecture, with identical memory mapping and pinout.
