The SparkFun GNSS Flex pHAT – LG290P is a powerful development platform designed to work with Raspberry Pi and compatible SBCs via a 40-pin header. Acting as a carrier board for the SparkPNT GNSS Flex Module – LG290P, it provides modularity and pin compatibility across boards, simplifying both upgrades and repairs. This system enables developers to harness the full potential of the Quectel LG290P GNSS receiver, a high-precision, quad-band, multi-constellation RTK module engineered for demanding positioning applications. The LG290P module supports simultaneous reception on L1, L2, L5, and L6/E6 bands, with compatibility across GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BeiDou, QZSS, and NavIC, along with augmentation systems such as WAAS, EGNOS, MSAS, GAGAN, BDSBAS, and SDCM. Advanced features include PPP services (BDS PPP-B2b, QZSS CLAS, Galileo HAS, MADOCA-PPP), RTCM, and RTK corrections for centimetre-level positioning. With a horizontal RTK accuracy of 0.8cm, vertical accuracy of 1.5cm, and 5ns PPS precision, the LG290P is suitable for applications requiring reliable geolocation and precise timing. A built-in NIC anti-jamming unit enhances robustness by eliminating narrow-band interference, ensuring dependable performance even in urban areas or high-noise electromagnetic environments. The module supports up to 1040 tracking channels, update rates of up to 20 Hz, and fast RTK convergence within 5 seconds, making it ideal for robotics, autonomous navigation, surveying, and geospatial projects.
