The PAM2305AABADJ from Diodes Incorporated is a highly efficient 1A synchronous step-down (buck) DC-DC converter designed for compact, battery-powered, and portable systems. Operating across an input voltage range of 2.5V to 5.5V, it efficiently converts single-cell Li-Ion/Li-Polymer or multi-cell battery sources into regulated low-voltage outputs ranging from 0.6V up to VIN. Using a current-mode control architecture, the PAM2305 ensures fast transient response and excellent load regulation. At heavy loads, it operates in PWM mode for high stability, while at light loads, it automatically enters Pulse-Skipping Modulation (PSM) mode to reduce quiescent current and extend battery life. The 1.5MHz fixed switching frequency enables the use of small inductors and capacitors for a compact PCB layout.
