Indoor LoRaWAN Gateway With Integrated Local Server And Node RED For Secure EU868 IoT Networks

This LoRaWAN indoor gateway is designed for reliable and private IoT deployments operating on the EU 868MHz frequency band. Built on the high performance Semtech SX1302 eight channel concentrator it enables stable long range communication with a large number of LoRaWAN end nodes while maintaining low latency and high throughput.

The gateway integrates a built in SIoT local server along with Node RED and a data parser enabling local data processing automation and control without dependence on cloud platforms. This architecture improves data privacy reduces response time and simplifies network design. With support for both Ethernet and WiFi two point four gigahertz connectivity the gateway is well suited for smart buildings industrial monitoring agriculture and private LoRaWAN networks.

LoRaWAN Gateway Local Server - Privacy, Speed, and Reliability

Most gateways act as simple bridges to the internet. The DFRobot Gateway operates as a standalone processing unit.

Total Privacy: Camera feeds, moisture levels, and location data are never transmitted outside of the local network.
Zero latency: Local processing ensures that automations respond instantly.
No Cloud Fees: This eliminates the need for subscription data hosting services.
Offline Operation: Smart garden or security devices can function even without an internet connection.

Automate with Built-in Node-RED

Zero-Code Logic for Everyone. Complex IoT systems can be built without the need for programming experience. Node-RED, the industry standard visual programming tool, is pre-installed on the device.

Simplified Network Architecture

DFRobot LoRaWAN Series

The DFRobot LoRaWAN product line focuses on "simplified development and efficient deployment," addressing situations such as learning, development, testing, and deployment while also providing developers with full low-power wide-area network (LPWAN) solutions.

Gateway: Embedded local MQTT server (SIoT) avoids the requirement for server configuration; supports Node-RED graphical programming for quick automation job creation.

Control Terminal: The multi-interface architecture (analog/digital input, RS485, relays) allows for both data acquisition and device control; it offers custom control rules and robust offline operation without network connectivity.

Development Board: Compatible with the Arduino ecosystem, with pre-built libraries and example code for a quick start; includes a screen, buttons, and other peripherals for real-time debugging without the need for external devices.

Node Module: Built-in LoRa/LoRaWAN protocol stack, support multi-platform graphical programming; supports standard I2C/UART interfaces, compatible with mainstream controllers such as Micro:bit, Arduino, and ESP32.

Applications

  • Smart Agriculture: On farms without 4G/5G coverage, soil moisture can be monitored and irrigation pumps controlled locally.
  • Home Automation: Connect long-range mailbox and gate sensors to a local control console.
  • Education: Ideal for teaching IoT protocols, MQTT, and logic flows in the classroom.

Package Includes:

  • LoRaWAN Indoor Gateway (868MHz)x1
