Industrial RS485 Infrared CO2 Sensor For Air Quality Monitor (IP65, NDIR, 400-5000ppm)

The Industrial RS485 Infrared CO2 Sensor is a robust and reliable solution designed for accurate carbon dioxide concentration monitoring in industrial and environmental applications. Based on advanced Non-Dispersive Infrared (NDIR) technology, it delivers precise CO2 measurement across a wide range from 400 to 5000 PPM. The sensor offers a fast 5-second response time, enabling real-time air quality assessment and control. With support for manual calibration and an RS485 communication interface, it ensures stable long-term performance and easy integration into monitoring systems. This sensor is well-suited for indoor air quality monitoring, greenhouse control, pipeline CO2 detection, and fresh air management systems operating in demanding environments.

Key Features

  • NDIR Infrared CO2 Sensing Technology – Provides accurate and stable carbon dioxide measurement
  • Wide Detection Range – Measures CO2 concentration from 400 to 5000 PPM
  • Fast Response Time – Delivers reliable readings within 5 seconds
  • RS485 Communication Interface – Enables long-distance, noise-resistant data transmission
  • Manual Calibration Support – Ensures consistent accuracy and long-term reliability
  • Industrial-Grade Design – Suitable for continuous operation in harsh and demanding environments
  • Versatile Application Support – Ideal for air quality monitoring, greenhouses, pipelines, and fresh air systems

Precision NDIR Technology

The sensor incorporates modern NDIR technology, which is a highly stable and accurate technique of measuring CO2. This allows for a measuring range of 400 to 5000 PPM, with high accuracy standards of ±50 PPM for concentrations between 400-2000 PPM and+-100 PPM for values over 2000 PPM. The 5-second response time and optional manual calibration capability provide real-time and consistent data capture. An straightforward indicator light gives real-time visual input on the sensor's working state.

Robust Industrial Design

This sensor, with an IP65 protection rating and a threaded fixed installation style, is designed for durability and ease of deployment in harsh environments. The probe has a waterproof and breathable membrane made of polymer, which efficiently prevents water vapor and dust entry while retaining ideal air permeability. This durable design offers a longer service life and consistent performance in difficult situations.

Seamless Integration with RS485 Modbus-RTU

The sensor is equipped with an RS485 output interface and supports the standard Modbus-RTU communication protocol, making it simple to integrate into current control systems. It is easily interfaced with modules such as the Gravity: RS485 to UART active isolation signal conversion module (DFR0845), which allows for quick prototyping and data reading on platforms like Arduino UNO R3, simplifying development and deployment. The sensor uses a DC 12V power supply and has a working current of less than 10mA.
