Grove - Optocoupler Relay M281 Bi-directional SPSD - Seeed Studio

The Grove – Optocoupler Relay (M281) is a high-performance, solid-state relay (SSR) designed for safe, efficient and reliable switching in a wide range of applications. This bi-directional SPSD (single-pole, single-throw), normally-open relay uses MOSFET-based switching technology, enabling it to handle both AC and DC loads with ease. With an exceptionally low on-resistance of just 0.5ohm(max), the module ensures minimal power loss and high efficiency in high-power scenarios. It requires only a low input control current—typically 3 mA—making it ideal for microcontroller-based systems such as Arduino, Raspberry Pi and Seeed Studio’s Grove ecosystem. The relay also provides strong input-to-output isolation up to 1.5 kV, enhancing safety and preventing interference between the control and load sides. Its Grove unified interface makes it fully plug-and-play, providing rapid prototyping convenience for automation, smart home systems, motor control and various switching applications.
