The BQ29700DSER is a cost-effective single-cell Li-ion and Li-polymer battery protection IC designed to safeguard battery packs against common electrical faults. It integrates precise voltage and current monitoring to detect overcharge, over-discharge, charge overcurrent, discharge overcurrent, and short-circuit conditions. With factory-programmed thresholds, the device eliminates the need for external configuration components, simplifying battery protection circuit design.

This battery protection IC drives external charge and discharge MOSFETs directly, ensuring reliable cutoff during fault conditions while maintaining ultra-low current consumption during normal operation. Its compact 6-pin WSON package makes it suitable for space-constrained applications such as wearable electronics, handheld devices, and compact battery packs where safety, efficiency, and reliability are critical.
