The ADS8694 is a high-performance 4-channel integrated data acquisition system based on an 18-bit successive approximation (SAR) analog-to-digital converter (ADC) with a 500 kSPS throughput. Designed for precision and versatility, it features an integrated analog front-end for each channel, providing overvoltage protection up to ±20 V. A 4-channel multiplexer with automatic and manual scanning modes enhances its flexibility. The device also includes a highly stable 4.096-V on-chip reference with low temperature drift.

Operating on a single 5-V analog supply, the ADS8694 supports true bipolar input ranges of ±10.24 V, ±5.12 V, and ±2.56 V, as well as unipolar ranges of 0 V to 10.24 V and 0 V to 5.12 V. The analog front-end gain is precisely trimmed for all ranges, ensuring exceptional DC accuracy. Each channel’s input range is independently programmable via software, allowing for tailored configurations. The device maintains a constant resistive input impedance of 1 MΩ across all input ranges, ensuring robust and consistent performance in demanding applications.
