The 7Semi DC Buck Converter Breakout fixed output 5V 2A integrates AP62301 low IQ synchronous buck converter with a wide input voltage range of 4.2V to 14V. The AP62301 design is optimized for Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) reduction. The device has a proprietary gate driver scheme to resist switching node ringing without sacrificing MOSFET turn-on and turn-off times, which reduces highfrequency radiated EMI noise caused by MOSFET switching.
The AP62301 is a high-efficiency DC-DC buck converter that is designed to step down a higher voltage input to a lower voltage output. The breakout board for this converter is capable of providing a 5V output at a maximum current of 2A.
The AP62301 uses a synchronous rectification architecture to achieve high efficiency, with a typical efficiency of over 90%. It also features a wide input voltage range of 4.2V to 14V, making it suitable for a variety of applications.
The breakout board includes input and output capacitors, as well as an inductor to support the buck converter. It also includes a jumper that can be used to select between automatic or fixed frequency operation, giving the user flexibility in their design.
The AP62301 is designed to provide a stable and reliable power source for applications such as embedded systems, robotics, and IoT devices. Its small form factor and high efficiency make it an ideal choice for portable and battery-powered applications where power efficiency is critical.
The AP62301 DC Buck Converter Breakout provides a simple and reliable solution for stepping down voltage to power a wide range of electronics projects.
A DC Buck Converter, also known as a step-down converter, is an electronic circuit that is used to convert a higher DC voltage to a lower DC voltage with high efficiency. The operation of a DC Buck Converter is based on the principle of Pulse Width Modulation (PWM), which switches a voltage supply on and off rapidly to produce a constant average voltage output. The DC Buck Converter typically consists of a high-speed switching transistor, a diode, an inductor, and a capacitor. The switching transistor rapidly turns on and off to create a square wave, which is then filtered to produce a smooth, regulated DC output. DC Buck Converters are commonly used in a variety of applications, such as power supplies for microcontrollers, sensors, and other digital devices, and are an essential component of many modern electronics systems due to their high efficiency and ability to reduce power consumption.
