E-paper displays use microcapsule electrophoretic technology to display; the principle is that charged particles suspended in clear fluid move to the sides of the microcapsule when an electric field is applied, making the microcapsule visible by reflecting ambient light, just like traditional printed paper. E-paper displays will clearly display images/texts under lamplight or natural light, require no backlight, and have nearly a 180° viewing angle. It is commonly used as an e-reader because of its paper-like appearance.
