Function Structure

Work Mode

TCP Server

The USR-N540 serial to IP converter operates by listening on the configured port for incoming TCP client connections. Any data that is sent out through the serial ports is transparently transmitted to all connected clients via the N540 serial to IP converter.

TCP Client Mode

The USR-N540 serial to IP converter initiates a TCP connection to the specified IP address. If the initial connection attempt fails, the converter will repeatedly attempt to reconnect until a successful connection is established. Upon establishing a successful connection, the device enables transparent bi-directional transmission of data between the PC and the serial device.

UDP Mode

The USR-N540 serial to IP converter transmits data to a specified IP address and port. If the connection attempt fails, the device will continue trying to reconnect until a connection is established. Simultaneously, the converter listens to the designated port and forwards all received data to the connected serial device.

HTTPD Client

The USR-N540 Modbus serial to IP converter provides support for transmitting serial data to a designated server using HTTPS protocol.
