The IR15-21C/TR8 is a compact 1206 package infrared LED from Everlight, designed for PCB-mounted infrared emission in space-efficient electronic designs. Built using GaAlAs chip technology and moulded in a water-clear plastic package with a flat top-view lens, this device provides stable infrared output with excellent spectral matching to silicon photodiodes and phototransistors.

Operating at a peak wavelength of 940 nm, this SMD infrared LED is suitable for applications requiring wide-area IR illumination rather than a focused beam. With a very wide 160 viewing angle, low forward voltage, and high reliability, the IR15-21C/TR8 is well suited for infrared sensors, miniature light barriers, optoelectronic switches, and smoke detection systems. Its double-end SMD structure supports automated reflow soldering and high-volume SMT production.
