1.6mm Subminiature SMD Infrared LED 855nm High Radiant Intensity for Compact Sensor and IR Systems

The HIR26-21C/L423/CT(XY) is a high-performance 1.6 mm round subminiature infrared LED from Everlight, designed for compact surface-mount applications requiring strong infrared output and precise beam control. This device is built using GaAlAs chip technology and moulded in a water-clear epoxy package with a spherical top-view lens, enabling efficient infrared radiation in space-constrained PCB layouts.

Operating at a peak wavelength of 855 nm, this infrared LED provides excellent spectral matching with silicon photodiodes and phototransistors, making it suitable for high-sensitivity sensing and detection systems. With high radiant intensity, low forward voltage, and a narrow 20 viewing angle, the HIR26-21C/L423/CT(XY) is well suited for infrared remote control units, scanners, PCB-mounted sensors, and other infrared-applied systems. The 8 mm tape-and-reel packaging supports automated SMT assembly and high-volume production.
